Fresh off a new funding round of $30 million, Crittercism, a company that lets developers monitor their mobile app performance, is heading to Europe.
San Francisco-based Crittercism announced today that it’s opening a new office in London to better support its customers in Europe and across the world. The company claims 45 percent of traffic to its site already comes from people outside the U.S.
Crittercism launched in mid-2011 at our MobileBeat conference with a slew of tools to help developers make sense of how their apps were performing in real-world scenarios. Since then, it’s also added the ability to monitor cloud services as well as new features targeted at enterprises. Earlier this year, Crittercism also added Android cofounder and Google Ventures partner Rich Miner to its board.

Additionally, Crittercism is kicking off a new partner program that will give app development shops free and early access to the company’s enterprise tools, technical training in its latest features, and the ability to earn money by referring Crittercism’s tools. At launch, partners include Mobiquity, SunFuture, and Le Figaro.
Why head to London? Andrew Levy, Crittercism’s cofounder and CEO, tells me the company already had a sizable base of customers there. It will also serve as a launching point for more international expansion down the line.
While the company’s technology has already been available to international customers, Levy tells me he’s hearing growing concerns from companies who’d like their cloud infrastructure to be hosted more locally. You can thank Edward Snowden’s NSA leaks for that.
Crittercism has now raised a total of $48.7 million from investors including Google Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Scale Venture Partners, and others.
