After President Obama sharpened his focus on the economy last week, the treasury secretary, Jacob J. Lew, will appear on the Sunday shows on ABC, CNN, Fox and NBC to discuss the administrationâs latest approach with Congressional fights looming over government spending and the debt ceiling.
Senator Mike Lee, Republican of Utah, will join Mr. Lew on âFox News Sundayâ to talk about how some Republicans are threatening to shut down the government if Democrats do not withhold financing for the presidentâs health care law.
Representative Mike Rogers of Michigan, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, will be on CBSâs âFace the Nationâ and NBCâs âMeet the Press,â sharing his thoughts on the importance of the National Security Agencyâs data collection programs to protecting the United States. The House narrowly defeated legislation Wednesday that would have limited the N.S.A.âs surveillance efforts. CBS will also feature Senator Mark Udall, Democrat of Colorado, who is a co-sponsor of a similar bill in the Senate.
Senator Ron Wyden, Democrat of Oregon, has long shared Mr. Udallâs concerns about government surveillance. He will join C-Spanâs âNewsmakersâ to talk about the debate over the N.S.A. on Capitol Hill.
With new revelations last week about Anthony Weiner, Christine C. Quinn, his opponent in the New York City mayoral race, will appear on NBC.
Judy Smith, the crisis management expert who was the inspiration for âScandal,â the ABC series, will join ABCâs âThis Weekâ to talk about how â" and whether â" Mr. Weiner should proceed with his campaign.
Senator Saxby Chambliss, Republican of Georgia, and Senator Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, the No. 2 Democrat, will also appear on ABC to talk about the N.S.A.
In addition to Mr. Lew, CNNâs âState of the Unionâ will feature an interview with Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, on the fate of Edward J. Snowden.
Also on CNN: Representative Peter T. King, Republican of New York, discussing immigration and whether he plans to run for president in 2016.
Representative Robert W. Goodlatte of Virginia, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and Representative Luis V. Gutierrez, Democrat of Illinois, will talk about immigration on Telemundoâs âEnfoque,â which goes on the air at noon Eastern.
Discussing immigration reform, Al Cardenas, the chairman of the American Conservative Union, and Jorge Plasencia, chairman of the board of directors of the National Council of La Raza, will be on Univisionâs âAl Punto,â which airs at 10 a.m. Eastern.
Tom Vilsack, the secretary of agriculture, will join Bloombergâs âCapitol Gainsâ at noon Eastern to talk about genetically modified wheat.
Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the House minority leader, appeared on Bloombergâs âPolitical Capitalâ on Friday. Repeats of the program will be shown throughout the weekend.
