Obama Invites Hillary Clinton to Lunch

President Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton will have a private lunch at the White House on Monday.

According to the White House press office, the lunch will take place in the president’s private dining room. No further guidance was given on what will be discussed.

The lunch will be one of several times that Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama have seen each other since she stepped down as secretary of state in February. In March, Mr. Obama hosted Mrs. Clinton and President Clinton at a private dinner at the White House, and the former political rivals saw each other in April at the dedication of the George W. Bush library and museum in University Park, Tex.

Mrs. Clinton has hardly kept a low profile since she left her post in Mr. Obama’s administration, filling her schedule with paid speeches, charitable events that benefit her family’s foundation, and get-togethers with friends and supporters.

On Friday, Mrs. Clinton attended a birthday party for Susie Buffett, the daughter of Warren E. Buffett, the chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, in Omaha. She had a long dinner this summer with Senator Charles E. Schumer of New York, her former Senate colleague, at Bistro La Promenade in New York, and breakfast with Casey Wasserman, a longtime family friend who is a sports agent and a grandson of Lew Wasserman. (Mr. Clinton and Mr. Wasserman posed for the cover of the latest edition of The Hollywood Reporter to discuss their friendship and philanthropy.)

In August, Mrs. Clinton will accept an award from the American Bar Association in San Francisco and, with Mr. Clinton, host a fund-raiser for the Clinton Foundation in Bridgehampton, N.Y.
