WASHINGTON â" Beau Biden, the son of Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., is scheduled to be released from a Houston hospital on Thursday after undergoing unspecified tests, according to a statement from the vice presidentâs office.
The younger Mr. Biden, who is the attorney general of Delaware, suffered âan episode of disorientation and weaknessâ while on vacation last week, according to the White House, and was admitted to an undisclosed hospital in Houston on Monday evening.
âHe is in great shape and is going to be discharged tomorrow,â the vice president and his wife, Jill Biden, said in their statement. âHe will follow up with his local physicians in the coming weeks.â
A separate statement from the Delaware attorney generalâs office said that Mr. Biden would be returning to Delaware to discuss his departmentâs efforts to combat violent crime.
The vice president is expected to attend an education-themed event with President Obama in Mr. Bidenâs hometown of Scranton, Pa., on Friday, White House officials said.
